Dear aspirant,
Entrance for M.Sc. BT is tough as you need to clear first the basic concepts even from 11th and 12th bio, chemistry and physics. Also there is need for some knowledge of maths.
The books you need to read (or devour) is "Principles of Biochemistry " by A.Lehninger.This is main as the entrance exam questions are mostly from this area.Other topic is Molecular biology and for that you can read "Genes" by B. Lewin or Molecular Biology by Watson. For genetic engineering,Gene cloning by T.A. Brown may work. Also you need to read and clear the concepts of physics, chemistry and somewhat of maths(yes,it is also important for entrance) from 11th and 12th standard NCERT textbooks of CBSE.
