One is NIT and other is good private college. In terms of placements NIT Durgapur ECE is better as you will get opportunities to get placed on-campus in either core ECE Companies or CSE companies or non-core Analytics or Financial companies.

Nowdays, ECE dept students are seriously focussing on coding, which was not existent in my time as everyone was intersted in core companies job except very few. Now ECE students are cracking GSOC too. So if you are intersted in Software profile jobs then also ECE @ NIT Durgapur is better option, but you had to do extra hard & smart work. There are various perks of being from NIT that too old original erstwhile RECs which was established way back in 1960s and has strong and robust alumni network.
