Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is the oldest institute in Asia to provide education in social work and is India’s pride. It was established in 1936 as Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work with 20 students. TISS Mumbai is the main campus of the institute but it does not provide any ug course. TISS Guwahati, TISS Hyderabad and TISS Tuljapur offers three-year BA Programme in Social Sciences and TISS Tuljapur also provides BA (Hons) course in Social Work with specialisation in Rural Development. All admissions are done through TISS BAT(Bachelor’s Admission Test).
