When it comes to choosing the ideal college for BA in social sciences especially in India, TISS should be your most logical choice in all aspects.

BA in social sciences from TISS will give you an edge as TISS has courses for Masters and PhD as well. I personally know a lot of my classmates who came to TISS for their Bachelors and they never left. So there shouldn't be any doubts about the college's brand image and reputation.

As far as social sciences as a field of study goes, I personally did my graduation in commerce which I now regret. Social sciences is a very broad field culminating psychology, sociology, rural development, philosophy, policy, economics, finance, administration and several other fields. With reference to your above mentioned query, i would like to tell you that the TISSNET cutoff varies every year and is different for different category students.

However, looking at the previous year cutoff trends, the minimum TISSNET cutoff for OBC Category students in 2022 is expected to be in the range of 60-70 marks.

The last date to apply for TISS NET Entrance Examination  for admission to MA Course in Tata Institute of Social Sciences for the academic year 2022-23 is February 10, 2022. TISS National Entrance Test (TISS NET) Stage - I will be conducted on February 26, 2022 from 2 pm to 3.40 pm. The candidates who wish to seek admission for MA course must apply on or before February 10, 2022. So if you haven't applied on or before the last date you cannot  apply for the entrance examination now as the registration window is already closed and the admit card is available to download from February 17, 2022 for the candidates who have applied. You may have to wait until next year or apply for admission in to any other institute if you do not want to take a year off.

As per the information given in the query it is understood that your institution is affiliated to Madras University if that is the case you should mention the name of University as Madras University in the application form you are filling.

• You can be any in age group to apply for TISSNET.
