KEAM marks are calculated along with your board percentage. Both of them are taken in the 50:50 ratio. The KEAM marks that are out of 960 are standardised and made out of 300. Similarly your board marks(either cbse, isce or state board) are also made out of 300. Then the total marks are calculated out of 600. So this is how your KEAM score can be in decimals.

Paper 1 and Paper 2 in KEAM is if 960 marks in total, which is further normalised to a total of 300 marks. Your grade 12 marks are then considered ouf if 300 and added to your KEAM score. Then the merit list(rank lost) is made by the authorities. Hence, the marks in decimals.
