Congratulations for the results. Hope you are doing well. Jadavpur University is a very good technical institute and has a relatively high cutoff. Admission depends on various factors such as category, home state quota, branch, number of students applied, number of seats, difficulty level of examination,etc. Though it will be very hard for you to get instrumentation and electronic engineering with the rank of 834 as it last year closing rank for general category was 541. So you will not be able to get admission in this college with the desired branch.

It will be difficult that you'll get electronics and instrumentation in Jadavpur University because their closing rank lies somewhere near 540. But you can check out for other courses there like Power Engineering and Production Engineering. They have got very good placements there for production Engineering. But you can check out other colleges also for Instrumentation and Electronics.
