Akshara College of Education, Prakasam, has been established in the year 2016 and is affiliated with Gundlapalli Village, Maddipadu Mandal, Ongole, Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh. The institution offers teacher education programmes and is affiliated with NCTE. Run on a 1.2-acre campus, Akshara College of Education conducts two full-time courses: Bachelor of Education and Diploma in Elementary Education, consisting of 100 students each. The institution has a total enrolment of 175 students against a faculty strength of 16, hence maintaining a very favourable student-teacher ratio to ensure personalised attention and quality education. 

It is well endowed to improve the learning experience for the students; for example, the library is stocked heavily to be used as a centre of knowledge for the trainee teachers. Akshara College of Education is modern in its way of doing things. Important Courses Undertaken by Akshara College of Education At Akshara College of Education, two primary courses are offered that are important in the development of future teachers. There are two levels of the course offered, the first being Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and the second is Diploma in Elementary Education programme (D.El.Ed). Both, as mentioned above, are two-year. Each programme has an approved intake of 100 seats, reflecting the institutional capacity to nurture a sizeable number of teaching professionals annually. The professional courses offered by these programs guarantee theoretical and practical education which groom students effectively in their careers as teachers, serving at various levels of the system. 

Akshara College of Education conducts admission on the basis of merit, under the rules of the state government and the Union Territory administration, and the affiliated university.
