Batch of 2020 | MBA
Well, this College one of the top-rated private B Schools in India. The study pattern over here is case based. We get lots of cases every week and thus we can connect the concepts to real life scenarios thereby understanding the concept permanently. The faculty is well qualified and has detailed knowledge about the subject they concern. Placements are good. Many companies come over here for drives, and average package students get over here is 9 lakh p.a. IBS Hyderabad has a statistic of 95% on-campus placement. The college has many clubs, 27 as on year 2018, each club is related to various streams. Studies as well as cultural.

Overall my experience in IBS Hyderabad till now has been pretty good. If Considering all the aspects like infrastructure, faculty, placement scenario and industry exposure, the college is pretty decent. But not affordable for sure. Definitely on the pricey side compared to other management institutions. Also, the student intake/batch size is humongous! 1200 students in a single batch!! Which actually makes the placement scenario too risky, stressful and unorganised. Otherwise it’s a pretty good college!

Great choice if you're looking for an MBA in Finance

Posted on 03 Apr' 18 by Siddhartha Srivastava
Batch of 2007 | MBA
ICFAI Business School (Hyderbad) is a great pick if Finance is your preferred specialization. Their Finance faculty is great - and you get the flexibility of choosing multiple non-Finance related subjects even if your major is Finance (e.g. IT or Marketing as a minor). The huge college campus is definitely a plus - as are the hostel facilities (didn't exist during our time - a batch of 2007, but we visited them in the following years and found them to be good). The fees is slightly high, which may make it seem like the institute provides a low ROI, but you get the opportunity to get scholarships based on your CGPA/SGPA, which can bring the overall fee significantly down. They offer this option in every semester. Being in Hyderabad is an advantage as it is a growing city with a number of job opportunities, which make it easy to find job placements. Of course, placements offered are not just in Hyderabad, but also in other major cities like Mumbai and Delhi. (Some lucky ones in our batch even managed to get international placements). It's also easy to attend the events organized by the huge ISB (International School of Business), where the top bigwigs of the industry frequently visit for seminars and workshops. I will definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a Finance specialization. For other specializations, may be this is not the best institute to pick. The placements in Marketing and Sales, for example, are not upto the standards of other similar ranked institutes. - Siddhartha Srivastava, Batch of 2007

Placements in 2017 was not up to the mark. Efforts need to be taken in this direction. The selection process need to be stringent so that the quality of students in the college and eventually the placements will improve. The infrastructure is awesome. Hostel life is also good. The quality of food can be improved.

Play ground helps you in keeping yourself active, fit & healthy and continue your sports passion. Number of industry experts' guest lectures can be increased to add on exposure opportunity for students. Placements can be tough job for any of B-schools at this phase of market scenario but on-boarding more start-ups can cater the shortcoming.

The college campus is huge to say the least. Lecture Theatres are usually for conducting classes of 1st year students. The college has some really good faculty members who are highly qualified and motivated. Placements have been average for our seniors with companies like HDFC, JPMC, CRISIL, ANZ Bank, ICICI Bank, EY, Deloitte and KPMG to name a few visiting our campus. As many as 200 companies visit our campus (most of which are startups) If you are a person with work experience then this might not be the college for you in terms of placements but for freshers like me it is good. The social life is awesome, the students bring the campus alive. There is a club for everything you can imagine in a B-School. Other Facilities include Hostels, Gym, Auditorium, Swimming Pool and Football and Volleyball courts.

Batch of 2018 | BBA
My first experience with management education was an enlightening experience. After welcoming us with a two-week long induction full of interactions, group learnings, and team performance, we were introduced to the management disciplines. Whereas I always believed a fellowship in finance and accounting area would be an ordeal, at least the beginnings of the journey were unexpectedly war . . We have one of the best faculty in the accounting and organizational behaviour one of the renowned names in the country in business to business marketing area, our economics chair also leave no stone unturned to make us sweat through their uncompromising academic standards.

Hyderabad provides a conducive learning environment. The extracurricular activities here in the form of different managerial clubs give you great exposure. The infrastructure is splendidly spread across 100 acres with the academics building at its helm. It has all the facilities including a swimming pool, gym, and a decent sports complex. Placements have been very encouraging and satisfactory. One learns about life along with MBA in IBS Hyderabad.

Good infra with indoor and outdoor stadiums still require an outdoor cricket stadium. Guest lectures allow students to know about ongoings in industry. Diverse crowd makes students learn more. Professors with a variety of experience including industry and academics make it different.ROI is not too good but given the fact that placement percentage is high one can opt for it.

The academic units of IBS-Hyderabad are organized around five departments: finance and accounting, marketing and strategy, economics, operations and IT, and human resources and soft skills. The faculty pool at IBS-Hyderabad is a good blend of people from the industry and academia with a majority having PhDs. There are 170 faculty members in the business school currently. The faculty members have published in the last three years around 300 articles in International and National journals. The Case Research Centre of the school develops business cases on an average of over 100 cases per year, which are being used around the world for teaching, in textbooks, and industry. The Center for Management Development of the school provides opportunities for faculty members in interfacing with industry. IBS-Hyderabad emphasizes student-centric learning supported by continuous evaluation and feedback. It offers a large case study based pedagogy for the MBA program. Case studies allow students to step into the shoes of the decision makers and deal with issues faced by managers. The students go through around 500 national and international case studies including those from Harvard Business School. I got admission this year and I am very happy about it. Internship period is going to start. For placements and internship, a company already have started visiting the campus and people are getting placed well. I wish the same for myself.

I have found quite a good friends in the campus. The best thing about this college is the crowd. You learn to stand together in any case. The class routine is very hectic from 9.30 to 6 pm. After that, the club works keeps you real busy till midnight or may be after that. You will enjoy every second in the campus because you will learn to prioritize things.

The college helps in improving personality but talking from placement perspective the returns are too low....the average package which a student gets is less than 5 which is of no use and he will still be working at an entry level position so preferably people who are keen of joining hr do not take it and waste 15,00,0000

Satisfactory College

Posted on 06 Sep' 16 by Nidhi Mitruka
Batch of 2018 | MBA
The college is satisfactory. College life is good. Too many entries for a batch resulting in large batch size. The faculty is not up to the mark and can only explain basic concepts. Club activities are prominent which leads to good exposure. Many extracurricular activities happen often like Guest Lectures, Seminars, etc. Placement is decent with a good CTC to almost all students. Hostel life is good with the best part being a separate room for every student with no issues for electricity and water supply. Infrastructure in the college with a 90-acre campus and lots of activities including a football ground and an indoor stadium. The gym is decently equipped though not very well maintained.

When I came here for my GD-PI, only one thing came to my mind that now I have to give my 200% because this is the college that I want to get into. With 1150 student approximately, this is the only college that has the potential To get students placed. The engine of this college is its clubs. With approx 27 clubs of different fields, it teaches you a hell lot of stuff. It gives you the teaser of how things work out in corporate level. Recreational facilities are amazing. With 'n' no. Of table tennis boards in hostel to tennis court , football ground , etc This college has taught me a lot and a lot has to come. Thank you, IBS Hyderabad !!

IBS was my first preference as my MBA college as I had heard a lot about this college from a cousin of mine. Although I would say I was a bit disappointed when I came here. The infrastructure is not up to the standards of such a reputable institution although the faculty is decent is explaining the topics. The hostel is nothing too fancy but works just fine in terms of quality. The exposure we get from the various clubs here is exceptional and unmatched. Overall, im moderately satisfied with the college.

The college has everything starting from the faculty, the student made clubs, placement cell, decent crowd. The student made clubs relating to all kind of fields marketing, finance, operation and there are 14 such clubs of different categories. The best part of the college is these clubs which helps you learn the management practically. Every club keeps organising events related to their club every 1-2 weeks. Which keeps the college happening all the time. The worst part is that the college charges 16 lakhs of fees including hostel. But the average package is 6-7 lakhs. My advice is if you have money and want to learn IBS Hyderabad but if you want a good return on investment, package wise then this is not the college.

Every morning is a monotony with a little twist like a slight change in people's behaviour, your understanding of a subject , your own mood and the way you see things around at that very moment. Though this place is going to give me the best till yet but the ways are little annoying , little stressful and little harsh . Every time I start thinking about my college the first thing that comes to me is the way the long distance between my home and this place , that feeling that there is no one from your relatives even . All alone only to make the career of my own . This place has planned a lot of things for each one but at the beginning it's little difficult to engulf . Everything is coming at an oh-so-fast pace that it before feeling that, it vanishes absolutely like a wind. Though adapting things are taking time here but once it will become in practice there is lot many things that can bring the best out you. Hope to reap the best.

Way to go ICFAI

Batch of 2013 | MBA
That's a decision you should make based on the available choices. As an alumni of the college let me provide you with some vital information regarding the college which will aid you in decision making. The campus: The campus is built on 94 acres of land and is very spacious, there are sports facilities inside and outside the hostel. While I was doing my MBA there used to be around 1500 - 1600 people ( including both batches first and second year ). But, the campus is big enough and never felt crowded. The placements: Various companies like TCS, Tata motors, JP Morgan CRISIL and other big names come to the campus for recruitment , some of them offered decent profiles to us many of them offered sales or Operations kind of profile which many people like for a start many people do not. The average salary figure for the 2010 - 12 . Hovered in between 6 which is decent if we consider that around 750 students were placed . Averagely B-Schools have 100 - 150 students in a batch. That's like placing 5-7 batches. The top 100 to 150 placements are good, and these students have an average package above 8 I suppose . So, you have to reach there, anyhow somehow. The teaching methodology: Till my time it used to completely case study based. The students were supposed to read the case studies and also the textbook concepts to be used in it 'on their own'. 70 students of a section would then discuss the case study for 60 - 70 minutes and would get grades based on that. Yes, that means teachers do not normally teach (even if they want to ), but, are just supposed to direct the discussion towards the right answers. The flip side: Grading of class participation generates controversy many times, which is already so subjective that probably it is impossible to appease everyone. which means students, sometimes, lose trust on the faculty and his abilities. It also results in a lot of students leaving the college with 'not up to the mark' knowledge of concepts. The good side: People who followed this system rigorously were industry ready, had a commendable knowledge and doing much better than expectations in the industry. I hear they have altered it a little bit after industry feedbacks and there fewer case studies now and teachers have been asked/allowed to teach the concepts now in half the classes in the rest the case studies are discussed. You will have to confirm this. The infrastructure: It's un-debtably good. The library is great. The faculties are almost all PHDs or in the process of completing it. The IT resources and etc etc etc. Everything is in place and present in abundance. The rankings: IBS has been ranked between 7 (by economic times) to 40ish, and everything in between. I presume the huge difference in rankings is due to the methodolgy adopted by different agencies. Wherever infrastructure has a score , IBS generally is ranked better. In my opinion, it is definitely amongst top 30 colleges. The club culture: There are around 30 clubs in IBS Hyderabad, each organizes it's own events and every festival is celebrated on the campus. Clubs give you an edge as they impart some skills that the course structure can not. Hostels and Mess:Well managed and good. The flip-side of the high population: You compete against too many people for placements. The level of class discussions generally comes down because people get paranoid and feel lost between 70 people, so, start speaking shit. The positives of the high population: It's fun to be around so many people. You get to learn so many things and there is nowhere you can network with so many people , which will help a lot in the career and life ahead. Wherever you go you will keep hitting on batch mates, seniors or juniors. My batch had people from 26 out of 28 states in India. And, yes 900 people in a batch is a lot of competition, but, that's just a snapshot of the real world.

Case study methodology is followed throughout the four-semester course.Almost all who were willing to go for a job were placed this year.Average package is around 5.5k where it use to be 6.5 in 2015. Learning Diversity

The admin block is the first block that you will see while entering the campus. The building has 16 lecture theaters and 22 classrooms with well-done interiors. The library is three floors full of books, magazines, newspapers, research papers and cubicles for undisturbed time for students to study and gain knowledge. Icfai Business School is known for its Case Pedagogy method of teaching. We learn from the real cases from Harvard Business School and many other renowned sources. We also have an alumni base of 40000 and growing. The college invites respected alumni to conduct various guest lectures and mentorship program to help the current students. We have Mock GD-Pi sessions conducted again with the help and support from alumni and faculty members to guide us for the placements. For industry exposure, you will be allowed to undergo summer internship program for a period of 3 months, during which you will work as an intern and learn the professional culture. The college has 30+ student clubs and cell. Being a part of these clubs help students to learn new skills and follow their passion, be it sports, cultural, academics, business related, photography and many other. This college was introduced to me as a mini India. You will find someone from your hometown for sure. The campus has cultural groups, that conducts food fest and culture related events for all the students to learn and respect the variety. Being away from the city, the college is a green campus with well-done transportation facility, right outside the campus gate. The intake of the student is huge so the campus has a no of large buildings (approx 8) dedicated just as hostels for boys and girls. The buildings are well maintained. The security is always on and so is food facility. No students sleep on an empty stomach as the hostels have canteens that run till 1 to 2 am, besides the two large mess and canteens above each.

College life is amazing as it gave me plenty of opportunities through a plethora of club activities and inculcates a spirit of teamwork and organisational skills. Also, there are students from all the states, which gave me an opportunity to interact and work with them as a team in various activities. Students get industry exposure as various guest lectures are being organised by clubs which gives an insight into the working of the company.
