Formerly known as Delhi College of Engineering, the Delhi Technological University is one of the oldest autonomous public universities in Delhi which offers technical courses related to engineering and various other courses related to management studies. Established in the year 1941 as Delhi Polytechnic the college was under the control of the Government of Delhi from the year and was affiliated to the University of Delhi till the year 2009. After that, the college was given the university status and the name has been changed to Delhi Technical University. The university is considered as the mother institution to some of the renowned colleges in Delhi including the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT, Delhi) and Faculty of Management Studies (FMS, Delhi) and some other colleges also.

Clubs, Committees and Societies
The Cognitive Minds: This is the debating and personality development society of the university. This society conducts various regular events like debate, quiz and workshops.
Toastmasters: Toastmasters internationals are a nonprofit international corporation that organises clubs all over the world for the purpose of promoting communication, public speaking and leadership skills.
YES+ Club: This club organises various workshops and seminars related to yoga.
Quiz Club: This club organises various quizzes in the university on both weekly and monthly basis. Some of the events organised are National Stock Exchange Finquiz Jan 2018, MACS quiz. Indikya National Level. Jaipuria Quiz League and many other competitions.
Round Table: This is the skill development society of the university. Formed in the year 2014 the society aims to bring together the technical and non-technical aspects of the job and make various students ready for the corporate world.
E-cell: This is the entrepreneurship cell of the university. The society organises the entrepreneurship summit every year in the college.
The Indian Game Theory Society: The aim of this club is to promote the concept of game thinking and strategic thinking across various colleges. The society organises various events like “Stratazenith” across various colleges in the country.
ASSETS: This is the finance and economic society of the university. Various activities like mock stocks, case study presentations are organised every year with an aim to boost the knowledge quotient of the students in every aspect related to finance and economy.
Computer Society of India: This is the national body of the country which represents computer professionals. Its DTU arm is one of the leading technical societies of the university. Under this society, various Interest Development Group are created conducting sessions on various topics starting from scrap to the expertise level.
ASCE & ASME: The American Society of Civil Engineers and Mechanical Engineers have a DTU wing. Various events conducted by the American Society of Civil Engineers are Chugging Contest, Invictus(technical fest of DTU) while that of the mechanical engineers are the automotive week and the aerospace week.
TEDx: TED is an organisation which serves as a global platform with annual conferences that bring together leading speakers, entrepreneurs, and social thinkers to share their story, their ideas, vision in order to innovate others. TEDx is a branch of TED which brings people together in order to share a TED-like experience.
Society of Automotive Engineers: This society conducts various technical workshops and events across the university. Some of the workshops are on IC Engines and Transmission, Solidworks workshops, ICAPIE and many other workshops are conducted every year.
SR-DTU: The society conducts various workshops on robotics, seminars on electronics, MBA workshops and EXCELSIOR.
DEPTH-DTU: This society organises the annual technical fest of the department of applied physics. AURORA is the name of the technical fest which is organised by the society.
ZENITH: This the astronomy society of DTU which seeks cooperation from among the student fraternity and the diverse space bodies. Major events conducted by the society are the Astrocamp, Hovercraft, Taaramandal, Night sky observation.
SAIM-DTU: The society organises the event “ EVOLUTE”
IICHE: This is the DTU wings of the Indian Institute of chemical engineers. Various events and orientation sessions are conducted along with presentations. One of the major events is the tic-tac-twist, foundation day. Various interactive and orientation are organised within the society along with paper presentation session known as Alchemist.
Cosmology Club: The club organises various events and workshops related to cosmology. Various lectures are organised within the societies along with the educational trips.
SITE: This is the society of the IT engineers located within the university. Major events of the society are the INVICTUS (along with CSI), BUGTRAIL, TECHWIZ, a game of dots and various other events.
INFERNO: This society organises various social events related to rover racing. Various events are Indian Rover Challenge and University Rover Challenge.
Team Raftaar: This is a team of undergraduate students who share a common vision of engraving dynamic concept of the human-powered vehicle in day to day life with an aim to promote sustainable modes of transportation for a better world.
UAS: Unmanned Aerials Systems is the team of undergraduate students who have a common aim of developing various technological solutions for Unmanned Aerials Vehicles. This team has a common goal to develop new technologies in the aerospace and defence sector. The team's ultimate goal is to develop and provide various who will lead to a reduction on India’s dependence on COTS products.
Team Super Mileage: The team focuses on developing urban concept vehicles which are practically safe and can be easily manufactured. The team has participated in the Shell Eco-Marathon 2016 competition and have made it place in the top 10 every year. The main aim of the team is to develop a vehicle that can achieve maximum mileage in a single litre of gasoline and can also result in the reduction of global warming.
DelTech Baja: This team design and develops single-seater racing vehicles and participate in the national and international SAE events.
Sports and Games: DTU provides excellent facilities for sports and encourages the students to actively participate in various tournaments which are held around the Delhi/NCR in other universities and engineering institutions. The college has a track, a ground for football, cricket & hockey. Courts for volleyball, football, basketball & badminton. Rooms for table tennis, chess, carrom and other indoor sports. The sports council organises a sports festival ARENA which witnesses large participation of both boys and girls.

Delhi Technological University offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programme. Admission to these courses is done on the basis of any national level entrance examination or through admission test which is conducted by DTU itself. For some non-professional courses of DTU, admission is offered on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in their qualifying examination. For B.Tech courses, admission will be done on the basis of the JEE Main score. For BA and BBA programme admission will be done on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying examination. For MBA programme, candidates have to appear in CAT first afterwards they can apply for DTU. Admission processes to various courses offered by DTU are discussed below:
For BA (H) Economics programme:
Candidates whose score in mathematics is higher will be considered first.
In case the candidates have the same marks in mathematics, then the elder candidate will be given preference first.
For BBA programmes:
Candidates who have higher marks in English will be considered first for admission.
In case any two candidates have the same marks in English, then the older candidates will be offered admission first.
For PhD Programme
Hostels: Delhi Technical University has 8 boys and 4 girls hostels and a married couples hostel. The total capacity of one boys hostel is 1284 while that of the girls hostel is 384. All the hostels within the university campus have a mess facility, reading room, gymnasium and a common room having various indoor facilities like carrom, table tennis, chess and badminton court.
Library: A central library is located within the university campus having all the necessary books related to the courses of the students. The library has access to the National Digital Library of India through which students can avail all the ebooks present in their databases. The facility of e-journal and e-books is also available in the library.
Computer Center: The university has a well-centralized computer centre to fulfil the needs of students and faculty. The computer centre has presently around 200 computers in two floors providing access to all the departments in the college particularly the CSE, ECE, EE and Maths departments.
The knowledge park: The knowledge is considered as an artificial network of the university within various industries and R&D institutions. The knowledge provides the students with a platform of scaling new and emerging areas of science and technology and integrating them together.
Banking and Mailing Facilities: A bank is located within the college campus with an ATM facility which is available 24 hours.
Guest House: These are for the staying purpose of the individuals visiting the university who are not the parts of the DTU.
Gymnasium: The university has a modern gymnasium with all the high tech equipment which are refurbished recently with all the new equipment.
Health Center: DTU has a fully equipped 20-bed hospital block where two practitioners are available for the students within day and night. Various other specialized practitioners visit the campus once a week.
If you wish to get into b.tech course offered by Delhi Technoligal University (DTU) then you'll be eligible to get into the college even if you score below 60 % in Mathematics given that you score Minimum 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry and have passed all three subjects along with language subject. And also since the result isn't declared yet, i'll sugest you not to panic a lot.
Hello student cut off vary every year on various factors like the level of question in the entrance examination and total number of applicants in that examination. As per previous year cut off you need rank under 5000 to get admission in DTU and if you're from Delhi state then you need rank near about 25,000 to get admission in DTU.
