The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) in Bangalore is one of the reputed deemed to be university started in the year 2002. This is a Category I institute that is based in Jakkur Bangalore and occupies a land space of 15.55 acres. JNCASR is known for providing research students and faculty with the best infrastructure to carry out advanced science research and education the institute provides 7 courses across 4 degree programs. The available library is for academic purposes as the IT infrastructure is for state-of-the-art research and education. There are sports grounds for students’ recreation, as well as students can attend the cafeteria to take a break and communicate. 

The campus has a wireless internet connection to ensure conveniently in access by the students and the staff. Specially equipped extraordinary laboratories is the key for institute research facilities and give exposure to the students in their respective domains. Jawahar Visitors’ House, which is situated in the Gymkhana grounds of the Indian Institute of Science is availed for the use by visitors.

It provides numerous courses with emphasis on post graduate and doctoral courses. Currently JNCASR has 6 full time Programmes and 1 part time Programme. These programs include various branches of science with a focus on an engaged higher level of knowledge. Although there are no specific numbers on the numbers of students prospective per course, having 339 students gives the impression that there admission standards are strict hence allows for quality delivery of courses. Though, the statistics of graduation are not available, there is a record of the number of students completing the programs in JNCASR in the most recent academic year.

Admission into the JNCASR is fairly selective, as the institute is quite selective in who it admits to join its halls of learning. Candidates who have a bachelor’s degree in any branch of science are eligible for the integrated Ph.D programs offered in Materials Science and Chemical Science. They usually undergo JAM or any written examination conducted by JNCASR and a personal interview for the selections. Like all the Integrated programs of Ph.D Biological Science, you will be subjected to a written test and interview to be taken by the JNCASR. 

The candidates who have appeared in JAM examination for the M.Sc Chemistry have to face written test only if they have been shortlisted after the JAM exam and then direct interview for selecting the candidates. For various courses, JNCASR admits also students through the JAM – Joint Admission Test for M.Sc Programmes. It is important to notice that, as far as the specifics of scholarship featuring are not disclosed, it may be mentioned that in the 2022 academic year, all learners enrolled in one-year PG programs received some form of a monetary refund. The selection will be through jam /jncasr written test and followed by interview.

Integrated PhD program in chemistry must have bachelor degree in any branch of science with chemistry as main subject

And minimum 55% marks required for bachelor level

Students who are appearing for their final exams can also eligible .

Candidates are also qualified on based on jam 2021 written test.

Regarding dates online application has already ended at April and written test is taken already regarding research.

And the selection process is going on , maybe the final list will be ensure in the end of the month .
