It might sometimes influence your placement because certain companies have policies prohibiting people having gap from sitting for placements.

However, there are only a few of these companies.

Otherwise, no one can stop you from finding a job at a good company if your academic background is excellent and you have talent. What counts most is your ability and enthusiasm for your task.

Furthermore, just to be cautious, you should have a solid rationale ready to excuse your gap if it is brought up in the interview.
