see iit kharagpur is a old institute and one of the best institute in india, however all iits has excellent placement records and iit patna has established many research base lab on previous years. from my oint of view you should now give priority to the stream rather than colleges. and mechanical engineering has lots of scope in coming future. so i prefer iit patna.
