yes, IIT Madras call for interview for M.Tech who has qualified first round (written exam).They used to ask some conceptual questions and some practical application oriented questions. They also see if the candidate is determined about selecting the area i.e whether the candidate is really intersted in research.

After completion of round 1 written exam.They will call you for interview where Experts and HODs will ask some questions to you.
