Nift conducts it's entrance exam every year to admit students for various courses. Two graduation courses are bftech and bDes. For bftech pcm in 12th is mandatory. Since you are a commerce student so you are only eligible for bdes.

The entrance exam consists of three parts. Gat ,cat situation test. Once you qualify gat and cat then you become eligible for the situation test.

Gat or general ability test comprises of questions from  english comprehension, vocab, general studies, current affairs, basic 10th maths ,reasoning. Cat or creative ability test comprises of questions which aim to judge ones creative and innovative skills.

You can crack nift without the help of any coaching institute. Just be regular with your studies. You can refer to some good books like arihants publication . For cat part I would recommend you to purchase study material from any good coaching institute. It will help you to understand the types of questions which are usually asked in the exam.

Make sure that you prepare thoroughly . Do solve previous year question papers to get an idea about the questions which are asked in the exam. Mock papers are must. At the initial stage you can go on by covering each and every thing but at the final stage make sure that you solve ample number of mock papers. It will teach you time management . It's really important to manage your time while writing the exam.

Do read newspaper daily. Keep yourself updated about every little thing happening around you. Read regular updates about the fashion world too.

Just prepare for it as you will be preparing for your boards . Thats it . like this You will definitely make it happen .

Preparation tips for Boards exam :

You must understand the syllabus & the marks weightage attached to multiple sections and then you must decide on how much time you need to dedicate for each section.

Get all the previous year board papers, and solve them as if you are giving your final exam.

Make sure Your calculations should be perfect and you should remember the formulas by heart.

Don’t forget to learn the theory of accounts, its equally important as practicals.

You must take note of all the theorems, methodologies and formulaeinvolved in each subject

try to sit for 3 hrs and master time management. See, where your weak points are, which questions take time and stuff and then work on that. Do at least 5-6 sitting continuously for 3 hrs.

Preparation tips for NIFT exam :

Prepare general knowledge from books and newspapers.

For cat entrance exam :

you should prepare for drawings like perspective drawings/ basic shading and colouring.

Take ideas from various advertisements, posters, banners etc., you come across.

Keep your eraser away from you while practicing. It’ll help your lines become more bold and confident.

Give importance to detailing where ever required.

Try to master the skills of human illustration.

For GAT

Candidates must know to NIFT syllabus.

Make time table according to syllabus - Allotting time for each subject.

Make Notes - Notes is very important thing which helps you to revise your syllabus quickly.

GAT COURSE :

Quantitative Ability: addition, multiplication, division, fractions, percentage, rate of interest, work and task, ratio and proportion, and distance.

Communication Ability: synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular, plural, one word substitutes, idioms and phrases and correct spellings.

English Comprehension: It requires understanding and answering questions regarding a specific passage.

Analytical Ability: It is designed to test the candidate’s inference and logic ability from given information.
