Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET), Punjab is one of the oldest technical institute located in Patiala, Punjab and was established in the year 1956.

Both the ECE and CSE are equally good in TIET.The faculties of both the stream in TIET are highly qualified in cooperative with the students.

The college offers various courses such as B.Tech, B.E., M.E., M.Sc.etc.

The fees for the particular college for various course are slightly higher as compared to rest other technical universities.

TIET college is very good in terms of placements. Adobe, amazon, infosys, idea, oracle, accenture, Wipro, NIIT, Sandisc etc are some of the leading companies which recruited the students of TIET in the past few years with and average package of 5-6 lacs per annum. The highest package offered to the Computer Science Engineering student in 2016 was 36 lacs per annum.

Thapar University is quite good college for pursuing engineering. The campus is big and infrastructure is very good.

Although syllabus is bit outdated, the faculty is experienced.

Also, the fees is on the high side.

As far as placement of Electronics students is concerned, it will a very good and the average package is around 6-7lpa.
