Hey Abhishek,

According to your query,

You would like to know that getting an NIT college is really good so congratulations first of all. Now coming to your query then NIT silchar is a good choice for doing electrical engineering. This college is really good in terms of placements and exposure also. Here you would get many skills and academics based tasks and activities which will develop your talent and strength. This   will help you in placement also indirectly.

Hope you find it useful.

Best of luck for your future.

Thank you.

The Electrical Engg. Dept. of NIT Silchar has probably some of the best faculty in the college.. very experienced and thoroughly professional professors.. so if you want to learn, and learn well, they can help you a lot.

it is a well-structured department.. labs are getting better too. The scope of EE is huge if you know how to get the right opportunity. No doubt NITS is one of the best engineering colleges in India so no need to say about it. The placement is good as well as 57 students got placed in 2018 batch out of 62 eligible with the highest CTC of 12 LPA (IOCL) and lowest in IT Companies like Accenture/Infosys (3.5 LPA).

HI Abhishek, The depertment of Electrical Enginneering of NIT Silchar is one of the finest and well equipped Electrical depertments of north-east region. The highest package of the EE depertment is 12L P.A from IOCL this year. I think it's a good option for you to pursue EE from NIT Silchar

Hey there

NIT Silchar is a good college though its an Eastern state college it has got a tag of NIT so has all the facilities. Electrical engineering at nit Silchar is good I am not saying it's the best because eastern nits have not excellent condition in terms of quality so if you have better choices go for it.

Check about NIT Silchar

hi abhishek,

In short, The Department of Electrical Engineering, NIT Silchar is one of the finest and well equipped electrical departments of the north-east region.

all the faculties of the electrical department of NIT Silchar are cooperative and supportive. BuT at times they are strict. But believe me they are there to make u stronger mentally and also u will find yourself at par the students of other premium institutions after passing out of here .

Some of the faculties are internationally recognised for their research work . so don't worry u r in good hands …

Hello,

The Electrical Engg. Dept. of NIT Silchar has probably some of the best faculty in the college.. very experienced and thoroughly professional professors.. so if you want to learn, and learn well, they can help you a lot..
it is a well-structured department.. labs are getting better too..

coming to exams and assignments, the Electrical Engg. Dept. is the strictest dept. by far.. tests are conducted like exams, and exams are conducted like life-and-death matters.. practical exams and viva are similarly strict and straight.. saying that, if you are thorough with your notes and preparation, you can do well.. getting marks is not the problem, because as I mentioned earlier, the faculty there is mostly professional, and they will award you proper marks, if you write your tests and exams well..
the attendance is also very strictly maintained, and one needs to be careful of the number of the classes he is missing, or trouble could brew later on..

now, to the most important matter, the placements.. they are bad.. unless you are one of the toppers, and you have been lucky to have had a couple of PSUs visit the college in your time, then you might sneak through into one of them.. otherwise, its mostly IT jobs that you will be seeking.. or if lucky a couple of companies offering GET positions, that are very limited..

overall, its the least preferred choice among students joining the college, but who is to stop you from your endeavours if you are truly dedicated and willing to put in a little more hard work than the rest of the lot..
if you want to learn and succeed, its a good place to be..
if you want the easier ways out, its a place to avoid..

Hope this helps you.

Good luck
