Admissions are on the basis of Jee Score. For ECE If you are from outside punjab then you need to be in top 50k ranker or above 120 marks in Jee main Examination .

If you are from punjab than you need to score above 95 marks in Jee main to get admission in ECE branch at Thapar Institute of Engineering and technology.

You need to have a decent percentile in JEE MAINS 2020 to earn the enrollment in Thapar University. It depends on the branch that you want to seek admission in, the number of seats available and also the number of applications for the same. The lowest percentile that is required or expected from a student is close to 76 which is for Mechanical engineering. For branches like electrical and electronics, the cutoff percentile is close to 84.

I would not however suggest you to take admission in Thapar University as it charges a lot of tution fees and does not provide that great placement packages in return. For a graduation BTech course of 4 years, the tution fees a student needs to pay is close to 17 lakhs.
