In order to initiate your preparation for IGNOU BEd exam you have to get acquainted with the pattern of the examination, the entrance test is conducted in online mode for two hours carrying 100 MCQs, there are two parts,

part A has the following sections;

General English Comprehension ; It's for 10 marks, includes topics such as grammar, idioms and phrases, reading comprehension, antonyms and synonyms etc, you can use Wren and Martin for grammar, for vocabulary use Norman Lewis's 'Word Power Made Easy', for practice purpose you can use Objective General English by SP Bakshi.

Logical and Analytical Reasoning ; It's for 20 marks, include topics such as number series, calendar, classification, analogy, alphanumeric series, coding-decoding, blood relation, number series, syllogism, questions based on the statement etc, you can use Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning by MK Pandey or Analytical Reasoning by MK Pandey but only for selective topics.

Educational and General Awareness ; It's for 25 marks, includes topics such as geography, social science, history, current affairs, political science, read newspaper on daily basis to cover the dynamic portion, in case of static portion you can refer GK Today, else Lucent's GK is good option for the same,

Teaching-Learning and the school ; It's for 25 marks, it includes topics such as learning and pedagogy, inclusive education, fundamentals and principle of education, developmet of teacher education india, responsibility towards societies, aptitude and development of student, fundamentals and principle of education, inclusive education, child-centered and progressive education, experiment related to school and new finding activities, you can refer teaching aptitude and aptitude for entrance exams to cover this section,

part B has science/mathematics/social science/english/hindi out of which you have to choose one subject,

the entrance test is conducted in English/Hindi, for each correct answer one mark is awarded,

you can refer IGNOU BEd entrance exam guide by RK Gupta for preparattion, there is also 15 sets for IGNOU BEd by Arihant publications or BEd entrance exam book by Upkar Prakashan which you can use for practice purpose, also consider going through previous year question papers in order to know about pattern of exam, level of the paper, important topics, through consistent practice you can analyze your preparation level, and thereby improve upon your speed, and time management skills.
