Hey Aspirant,
Firstly congratulations on such a decent performance in NEET 2022. As you have not mentioned your home state, I will take the example for last year's least cutoff for general category i.e., 612 in the Andaman and Nicobar (see https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-cut-off-for-government-colleges ). As apparent, it's virtually not possible to get a govt. MBBS seat.
Now coming to BDS, it is pretty much in demand even in the current times, though the professionals faced issues during the pademic period, the profession has now again started blooming. Remember people are very much driven by their looks, the way the smile or the ordour of their mouth, these are very integral things that will never run out of demand. Coming to job security, a dentist with a fresh degree earns around Rs. 3-6 LPA which goes on increasing with experience. Regarding your dilemma of taking a drop, I would suggest you to give yourself a thought as you too can not completely put off leaving a MBBS degree (which again is an equally prestigious and high paying profession), your score is on borderline and definitely has a scope for improvement with more practice. So think mindly and choose what's best for you.
