Hello aspirant, thanks for you query.

You have been alloted a seat in SM category because SM category has the highest number of seats which is 60% and under LA category, there are only 3% seats. Also when you are in LA category and during allotment it shows that you are allowed a seat in SM that means you are also eligible for SM category. The allotment of seats is done on the basis of hierarchy of quota in which SM comes first. I hope you got it.
