First of all let us break the ingredients of a good college into five parts:

1. Infrastructure: It not only includes the hardware/software required for course syllabus but also for all round development of a student. The infrastructure provided should also focus on all round development of a student, enable him to culture his own ideas and work on it through mutual collaboration.
2. Faculty: The backbone of any education institution is their faculty. For present situation, it is utmost necessary for the faculties to be ‘practical centric’. This means explaining the results of a practical phenomena in terms of the theoretical proof. But here is the catch: Practicals first.
3. Extracurricular Activities (EA): This is an integral part of any educational institution. A good college would design its EA in such a way so as to promote collaboration among its students, not competition.
4. Location: The environment around the campus plays a vital role in nurturing creative ideas. A pleasing environment will keep a student calm and helps to focus on the ideas or goals of an individual. This is the reason why Google, Facebook and other companies who promote innovation among their employees spends million of dollar to keep their campus look pleasing.
5. Placements: This is the top of an iceberg. All the above points such as Infrastructure, Location, Faculty and EA over the time results in good placements.

Any college which focuses on these points is not only successful over time, but also adds value to each student's life. After the initial phase of the first job, not many people would remember his/her college for their placements but for the values and skills they have nurtured with the help of the college during their college days. Colleges which focus on nourishing values and skillsets would eventually called a good college.
