The thing is we can't exactly say what the rank will be for 156 marks. It totally depends on the toughness of the paper. Out of 300 scoring 156 could be considered as enough for getting low tier NITs. Like most probably his rank will surely lie with in 50,000 for sure. But it can come around 30,000 as well. It will totally depend on the toughness of the paper.

Since the exam has now become online, It is difficult to predict rank on the basis of marks.

Last year, it was seen in many many cases that two students securing the same marks did not get same rank (due to their slot being different). Also, there were cases like Out of two students, one scoring much much lesser marks than the other got much better rank than the other.

For marks = 156, rank may lie between 30,000 to 60,000
