Yes, they will ask in placements and might be you will not eligible for  some of companies too because now days mostly every company having criteria at the time of placements such as academic 60% through out and some of companies are demanding are high like 70-75% percentage in 10th and 12th .So it is basically depends upon companies and their criteria but now days almost every company minimum criteria is 60% .

Dear, placements in any college are not a matter of 10th, 12th or your college cgpa marks only. It's about your personality, honesty, work inclination, dedication and many more factors which shows the HR, how much you can contribute for this job. They will also look for your co-curricular activities which you did in your 4 years of college life. It solely depends on your performance, and also how much technical knowledge you acquired in your core subjects, and what additional studies or research you did.

As you know, NIT Surathkala witnessed 100% placement in year 2019 in B. Tech and 79% in M. Tech. The highest package offered this year is 39 LPA in B. Tech. The number of the PPO's has also increased in previous years upto 25%. The average placement of the college being 14.15 LPA in B. Tech.
