Qualifying exam scores, subjects and JEE Main scores
Candidates must have secured minimum 60% marks in aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the following subjects- Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational. Candidates belonging to reserved categories like SC, ST need to have minimum 55% marks in the above mentioned subjects.

Candidates must have secured minimum 60% marks in Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3 year duration. Candidates belonging to reserved categories like SC, ST need to have minimum 55% marks.
Candidates need to have secured minimum 20% aggregate marks in JEE Main 2018 entrance exam to be eligible. The reserved category candidates like SC and ST need to have secured minimum 15% aggregate marks in the exam in this criteria. It is to be noted that candidates belonging to PGN, GoI, JKM, JK & N-E categories will not be considered under this criteria of eligibility.
Candidates must have secured minimum 80% marks in aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the following subjects - Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational. Candidates belonging to reserved categories like SC, ST need to have minimum 75% marks in the above mentioned subjects.
Candidates need to have secured minimum 15% aggregate marks in JEE Main 2018 entrance exam to be eligible. Candidates belonging to SC or ST categories need 10% aggregate marks in JEE Main 2018 exam. Candidates belonging to PGN, GoI, JKM, JK & N-E categories will not be considered under this criteria of eligibility.
The first five toppers of the recognized Boards of India in the examinations held in 2018 will be given direct admission to the first year of B.Tech programmes at Thapar Univeristy with the condition that they must have appeared in JEE Main 2018. Such candidates will have to produce proof of being toppers from their respective boards. These candidates will get the following benefits:
The entrance test scores of such candidates will not be considered for admission.
They will be allocated engineering branch of their choice.
Tuition fee will also be waived off for such candidates provided they maintain minimum CGPA of 8.50 in subsequent semesters.
