Hi Paras!

The cutoff for a seat in MBBS varies across colleges and how well you and others have fared in the exam. Usually you should aim above 570, even then it is not guaranteed. If you can be specific for the college you’re interested in, we can help you out better.

Hope this answers your question!

Dear Paras,

There is nothing called passing marks in NEET Exam. In NEET, it is qualifying marks rather which is 50th percentile for general category and 40th percentile for reserved categories. Try to score 550+. Then you'll definitely get a good medical college.

If you want to score good marks in NEET then just follow simple steps -

Clear your basic concepts.

Be thorough with NCERT textbook. Its a must.

Solve previous year question papers.

Take mock tests to assess your progress.

Solve questions from any reference book you prefer for competitive exams

Solve as much as numerical possible.

Use shortcuts to solve to save your time. Formulas to be at your Fingertips.

All the best.

Minimum marks required for getting through a medical college is 50 percentile for general category candidates and 40 percentile for reserved category candidates..

However if you wish to get a mbbs seat in government medical colleges , you have to score around 540+ marks in neet ug exam..

Good luck..

Dear student it is always tough to get into a college in unreserved category. So to get into a college of your own choice, you need to go through the syllabus of NEET-UG thoroughly and score a good marks! Your target should be 570 + so that you can get a good rank and thus the college of your own choice!

All the best for the upcoming examinations!!

A clear information regarding which state you belong to would enable me to help you better. However, if I were to give you a gist, I'd recommend you to try scoring above 570 to keep yourself on a safer side.

The competition is only getting tougher every year.

Since you haven't mentioned your category and your preferred college. I am guessing your category as general. For getting seat in any state using All India 15% quota, you should try to score at least 550. For top colleges like MAMC, 600 is good score.

For availing a seat in your state through state quota, a score of around 470 is good.

All the best.

Hey there,

Could you please specify which college? The 85% State Quota closing score/ rank different from college to college as well as from state to state. If you are aiming for a government College, under General Quota, you must focus to score 550+ out of 720 to absolutely be sure of a seat. However, if you can specify your state as well as your college, I will be able to help you out with the same.

Nevertheless, focus on your preparations now and do your best!
