Well when you are getting enrolled in preparatory course, it will all depend on your hard work. After getting admission in preparatory course, if you pass your examination of first year, then you can retain your seat otherwise your seat will be cancelled. So if you are a hard worker and have willingness to do something then you should join the preparatory course in IIT because if you crack the examination after one year you will be officially become a student of IIT

SIR MY PREP. SC RANK IN JEE ADVANCED 2019 IS 1546 THEN WHICH IIT WOULD I GET.

Well this might depend on other as well. In this preparatory course you will have to go through physics chemistry mathematics and English in two semesters. If you clear them then only you will be able to grab seat in IIT.And as per your rank from last few years, some of the IIT you might get are IIT MadrasIIT DhanbadIIT Ropar and some other as well.

As I mentioned earlier those were some IIT which you might get and as for branch, preparatory course don't have any particular branch as for that course you have some particular subject that you need to clear which are physics chemistry mathematics and English.
