well exactly here I have a BIG PROBLEM. I'm from Odisha board. when I approach to my school for changing my name in my 10th certificate they told me to go to the the DEO (DISTRICT EDUCATIONAL OFFICER) office.

I went there then DEO told me that my name is changed so so he cannot help me if my name is in the school register and it was mistakenly type in my marksheet then only he can change but I changed my name with the help of Affidavit so he told me that he cannot help me with it and redirected me to the Board office of Odisha

I went to the Board office of Odisha (CHSE) then the people sitting at the board office told me that I can't change my name( first of all they ignore me ) . But I keep asking how is it even possible CBSE students can change there name so why can't I ? Then they told me to go to my school and change my name on my school register.......

I have to get the sign of DEO in order to change my name... My school told me to go to DEO Office for conformation...

And then I came back to DEO Office. DEO was absent one of his subordinate told me that I don't need to change my certificate as I have the Gazette. I can attach it whenever I need and they will consider my new name.

and Yesterday after lockdown I went to there office for Confirmation, I found out DEO of our district retired...

I'm so confused. 😥😓

Aryan Gaan First all of don't worry even if in Orissa board you are not able to get your name changed on your certificate.
One important thing is that even though you have changed your name, while filling the neet application form, you need to fill your details like name , dob etc as per your 10th certificate.

Your document verification is done during counselling while reporting to the college. So,
what you can do is while reporting the college for admission along with your 10th certificates etc and other documents, you can submit affidavit which you have supporting your new name so that you get registered with your new name while taking admission.

I will fill up my Neet registration form today in my old name. After completion of councelling, while taking addmission I will submit my Affidavit and Gazette For joining with new name in college.
