The different options available to you if you're not able to get a medical seat this time

  • you can either prepare well for one more year practicing MCQ examinations and strengthening your basics and appeared for Neet next time unless you are exceeding 25 years of age for unreserved category and 30 years of age for reserved category by 31st December of next year
  • you can choose to study in a college where you are getting with the rank you have obtained this time if atleast have qualified in the examination but I am not getting a college of your choice and can decide whether to continue in that or to appear for the exam again once you start with your medical education
  • you can also choose to study BDS since you will get good government BDS colleges and dentistry has a big scope in today's world especially with the advent of MDS and specialisation after performing your BDS course
  • you can choose alternate medicine such as BA MS or BHMS which will help you practice homeopathic medication Ayurvedic medication and help you in securing jobs at government health centres as well as various private centres
  • you can choose to appear for the BPT entrance examination hall for DMLT which will help you get into the lines of physiotherapy and laboratory technician jobs in medical laboratories respectively
  • you can also of for the critical care anaesthesia diploma course which will help you become a technician in the intensive settings and assist intensivists
  • you can also opt to study a general science and pursue graduation, post graduation and doctorate in that Anitha work as a professor educating students or take up consultancy jobs required in the research and development wing of different multinational corporations associated with by technological, bioinformatics, genetic and biochemical research works

Hello Student.

In case you do not get your desired seat and course, you can either take a drop of one year and prepare well for next year or you can choose from what is available.

Through NEET, you have a variety of options for you even if you dont get a MBBS seat. You can take admission in BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BPT, Agriculture and Research and various other fields through this one exam. Although apply this option only if you dont want to spend an extra year preparing.

The current demands of people have changed and BAMS, BHMS, AgriCulture and BSc Nursing are in very much demand as we can see from their increasing cutoffs. Also the govt is enhancing these courses with a lot of monetary benefits so you can choose them as they provide not only money but also a job security.

But incase you are determined enough and want to follow your passion and get your desired seat, you can take a drop of one year.

One year drop wont matter much now, but if you choose a stream which you never had passion for, you will regret it ahead in your life. So dont settle for a different stream altogether for the sake of that one year.

Although if you get the desired course of your choice but not desired college and your college is not too bad, the just grab the opportunity as you may not get it in the future year. Suppose you desire for King George Medical College MBBS and you get a MBBS seat in Coimbatore Medical College, then just take it.

Also dont waste any seat in the NEET counselling as this can affect the person who has a below rank than you but decent marks. Fill only those colleges in the counselling which you desire to get in.

One more option which is very common nowadays is of private colleges. I would suggest you not to go for any private medical college except CMC Vellore and KMC Manipal. But these two also require a huge amount of money. If you are economically strong, you can definitely go for them. Their cutoffs are also a bit low than govt. colleges.

I hope this helps. Thank You.

don't get so negative, with this attitude if there is a little bit of chance of getting a seat then you will surely loose that chance also.if you want to become a doctor then you have to be positive in life.you don't need to loose hope before your exam, work hard and you will surely get a seat in any medical college. In case you don't get any college then there are lot of options in life,it is not the last chance of your life.

You can take admission in b.pharma, bpt,Bsc nursing, bvsc, bams, bhms, bums etc.i hope this information helps you.
