Joint entrance exam (JEE) is an entrance exam conducted to get admission in engineering College
Jee is comprised of 2 level
1. Jee mains
2.  Jee advanced
Aspirant need to fill this exam form and then appear for it right after their 12th examination
Those who have cleared jee mains which will be eligible to take admission in nit and those who have cleared both mains and advanced Wil be eligible to get into iits

Hello Aspirant,

A candidate can give JEE Mains 6 times in his/ her lifetime. 2 attempts are given per year for 3 consecutive years starting the year when you're appearing in 12th.

A candidate can give JEE Advanced twice in his/her lifetime. 1 attempt is given per year for 2 consecutive years starting the year you're appearing in 12th.

So a candidate can give JEE for the first time when he/she is appearing in class 12th.
