I should say, Manipal University is a better choice, if you are not a bright student. Although Return on investment is high in VJTI, but the chances of getting a placement is limitted.

Manipal being a top private university of India, assures your placement, although not a very good one but atleast something.

Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, Mumbai is a government university. The median package is 7.84 Lakhs, wheras for MIT the average package for CSE is around 9 Lakhs. I think, there are more possibilities in MIT, as more companies visit MIT, and also, MIT is more recognised due to there efficient advertisements.

If you are looking for better placement and total personality development then you should consider Manipal University. Both the VJTI and Manipal has good placement offerings but VJTI lacks in some big companies. VJTI has better overall placement percentage than Manipal but this is due to the lesser number of students as compared to Manipal University. Both universities offer good placement but If you want to get in some bigger companies then you can consider Manipal University.
