Both NIT as well as IIEST have their own reputation. CSE is better than IT from many prospects, IT is more of practical aspect and CSE has equal theory and practical parts. Placements are more or less same for both the field. But problem arises only during termination.

IT from IIEST Shibpur have decent overall ratings. They have Consistent and good placement records. Average placement record is around 85%. The highest package offered is 40Lakhs per annum, lowest package offered is 4Lakhs per annum and average package offered is around 8-9 Lakhs per annum and top recruiters are Microsoft, Amazon, Uber, etc. They have good infrastructure and friendly teaching faculties.

CSE from NIT Patna, they have better overall ratings than IIEST. They have consistent as well as good placement records. Almost 90% of the students are placed. Highest package offered is 42Lakhs per annum, lowest package offered is 2.4 lakhs per annum and average package offered is around 6lakhs per annum. Top recruiters are TCS, Samsung etc. They too have excellent infrastructure and well qualified, friendly teaching faculties.
