It's quite difficult to get admission with that large rank. So, in order to get admission, one should have yo score little bit less. Even for the state quota, one should get approx 15 to 30 k for chemical departments, depending on the department one wants

See if you belong to General category then its just literally impossible to secure a seat in the branch of chemical engineering in NIT Durgapur under home state quota.If luck permits then you may get a seat in the INTEGRATED M.Sc program although you have to wait until special round of counselling through CSAB.

Now if you belong to sc/st category then you may get the desired branch in NIT Durgapur.

P.s:-OBC category students may get a seat in civil engineering or branches below that such as metallurgy,biotech etc.
