Jharkhand Rai University, Ranchi was established in 2011 under the Jharkhand Rai University Act. JRU is a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Association of Commonwealth Universities, London. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university offers education to students at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels.

Jharkhand Rai University, Ranchi is located in Ratu Road, Chanakyapuri Colony, Kamre, Jharkhand. The nearest airport from the university is the Birsa Munda Airport which is 20 km away and students can reach the university in approximately 34 mins. The nearest railway station from JRU Ranchi is the Ranchi Railway Station which is 13.7 km away and students can reach the campus in about 38 mins.

Clubs, Committees & Societies:-

• Sports Club- The Sports Club has been formed to develop the skills and interests of students in sports. This club aims to promote a healthy and fit lifestyle by engaging students more in sports activities. Various events and competitions are also conducted by the members of this club. The members of this society also conduct various sports and recreational activities on National Sports Day.

• Electoral Literacy Club- The Electoral Literacy Club has been formed with the objective of developing the ts. literary skills of students. Students of the university join this club so that they can develop their spoken and written English. Members of this club also participate in different events and competitions conducted inside the university.

• Science Club- The Science of JRU Club consists of members where they perform projects and research works related to science. Science club provides a platform to students where they study books and topics to learn and know more about the advancing science.

• National Service Scheme- National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Youth Programme which is established under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Students of Jharkhand Rai University, Ranchi have also conducted various programmes under this scheme including international yoga day, blood donation, leprosy campaign, swachh bharat, literary campaign, mass cleaning, mass tree plantation, road traffic awareness, sand sculpturing, polio vaccine, disaster management, PFMS training etc. to spread awareness among the common people.

• Fine Arts Club- Fine Arts Club of JRU Ranchi aims to nurture the skills of students in the field of arts. Students join this club to hone their skills in arts and learn new skills and techniques. Students who are creative get a platform to showcase their interests and skills.

• Management Club- The Management Club of Jharkhand Rai University, Ranchi has been formed to develop interests in students in terms of management and to make them aware about the benefits and various terms related to it. Various workshops, events and competitions are also conducted by the members of this club.

• Career Guidance and Placement Cell- Career Guidance and Placement Cell consists of members where students are provided counselling sessions regarding any distress faced by them. Students of JRU Ranchi are free to discuss and share problems regarding their academic career and the counselors will provide guidance to them. Also students are helped in choosing the right career path by improving their communication and management skills and preparing them for future endeavours. All the counselors are professionally trained and the sessions are conducted in a confidential and peaceful environment.
