Affiliated as a teacher education college, Abhilasha College of Education was founded in 2008 in Bhopal. Located in Vill. Ratibad, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, the area of this whole institution is 1.0 ACE. Teachers training college is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education NCTE in terms of quality standards. Overall student enrollment capacity for Abhilasha College of Education is 100 and it has the teaching staff of 2 faculty members. At the moment the institute offers a single course that is a Bachelors degree in Education (B.ED) which is a two calendar year program.

In this section, the college possesses a variety of resources the purpose of which is to improve students’ learning process. A well-stocked library accommodates, accession of over and above 10000 books of educational philosophy, psychology, research method and techniques of teaching. They also include encyclopaedas, dictionaries, periodicals, journals, and a web-library for the internet. 

The importance of the all-round development of learners is exhibited in the college’s sports courts and a hall which can host cultural and intellectual activities with a population of three hundred people. In correspondence with the practical training, Abhilasha College of Education has provided important specialized laboratories. Such facilities are a psychology lab equipped with different assessment instruments, an educational technology lab furnished with contemporary acoustics visual and an ICT lab complete with 35 internet accessible computers. Also, there are purposefully built laboratories for general science, social studies, physiology/anatomy, mathematics, as well as an art and craft workshop for the multi-competency preparation of trainees.

Abhilasha College of Education across its branches lays its major focus on the B. Ed program. This course is a full-time course and is sanctioned for a total intake capacity of one hundred students per year and each year a large number of students aspiring to teach come forward. The programme is to provide the fundamentals of theories of teaching and learning as well as to develop the student’s skills to teach in various contexts of modern education. As for the part-time courses, online programs, or certification courses, their details are still missing, but the college tries to meet its objectives through the main B.Ed course.

Admission policy of Abhilasha College of Education shall be as per rules and regulation framed by the state Government, UT administration and the Uni-versity to which the College is affiliated to. Selection process is completely based on marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test. The college may also wish to adopt other techniques of selection as championed by the existing policies. The B.Ed program is popular and only 100 new students are enrolled every year. The college seems to embrace the policy of offering education for everyone without discrimination, but more information about scholarship or famous alumni, we are yet to learn.
