College of Teacher Education, Vaikom, was set up in the year 1998 as one of the premier institutions to build the future educators. This is a coeducational school situated in Kottayam, Kerala, which functions as a constituent college to provide good teacher training courses. The college occupies a small area of 1.25 acres but has aimed at achieving high standards of education, which it attained through membership with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college offers one course in the stream of education. 

The College of Teacher Education is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University (MG), Kottayam. Front and centre of this college’s focus is its premier four-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme, whose aim is to produce competent and enthusiastic teachers. The college restricts the number of students and faculties: the total student intake is thirty-five and the total faculty is nine, which provides better care and a positive atmosphere for learning.
