72 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programme in Animal Nutrition shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including coursework and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned, offered by Central Agricultural University, Imphal.
The candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programme must have a Master’s Degree in Veterinary & Animal Science in the concerned discipline from a recognized University with an OGPA of 6.50 out of 10.00 or equivalent percentage of marks. SC/ST candidates with an OGPA of 5.50 in the Master’s degree shall be eligible for admission.
Admission to the PhD programme is based on the All-India Competitive Examination conducted by the Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Manipur. All the candidates, including sponsored (in-service) for seeking admission to the PhD programme, must have to appear in the written Examination. Admission notice is generally published in the news newspaper and the university website (www.cau.ac.in). A few seats of PhD programmes in selected departments are reserved for candidates qualified in the ICAR PhD entrance test and subsequently nominated through ICAR counselling.
