The College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Mizoram, is a renowned institution with specialisation in veterinary education and animal husbandry. The College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry admission process follows a very competitive admission process that differs with respect to the programme level. In undergraduate admissions, the College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry College mostly takes into account performance in competitive entrance exams organised by respective state governments.

The college provides M.V.Sc courses in diverse specialisations such as Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, Livestock Production and Management, Animal Nutrition, Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Pathology, Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Veterinary Biochemistry, and Animal Genetics and Breeding. Admission is determined on the merit of students in qualifying exams, and 25% of the seats are filled through ICAR nominations based on the All India JRF/PG entrance examination.
