Government Dental College, Thiruvananthapuram is a higher education co-ed institute which was established in the year 1959. The institute offers admission in the stream of Dentistry and its allied faculty. GDC Thiruvananthapuram is an affiliated college of Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur. It offers courses of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS). The GDC Thiruvananthapuram admissions are conducted by the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala (CEE Kerala), which is a government body under the authority of the state government of Kerala. 

To apply for BDS admission in Government Dental College, Thiruvananthapuram, the applicant must appear for the national entrance examination of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). For MDS admissions, he/she must appear in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for MDS (NEET MDS). The candidate also must meet the eligibility criteria set by GDC Thiruvananthapuram. Only those candidates who have secured a valid score in these entrances can participate further into the admission process which is the counselling rounds known as Centralised Admission Process (CAP), overseen by the CEE Kerala.
