Gurukul College of Education, Uttar Dinajpur: Admission 2025, Courses, Fees, Cutoff, Placements, Ranking

Recognized under the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Gurukul College of Education has specifically been set up for teacher-training programs as an affiliated rural college in full-fulfilling activities in Uttar Dinajpur district, West Bengal. Admission is based on merit, as per the guidelines of the state government, UT administration, and affiliated university.  The admission process itself generally corresponds to the dates around the academic calendar for the State of West Bengal.  Gurukul College of Education admission eligibility criteria vary by course. Generally, the candidates are expected to have made their qualifying examination from a recognized board or university. For admissions, the marks from the qualifying examination will be considered along with the entrance examination marks.

However, the examination results of the candidates in qualifying exams and state-level entrance tests are considered by the college. University-level entrance test scores may also be considered by the college, depending on the course chosen. Thus, it is the responsibility of the prospective student to work on improving his academic grades along with the relevant entrance test as per the stipulations of the state government or the university.

Application Process

The application procedure at Gurukul College of Education is made up of the following steps:

1. Admission Announcement: The College announces admission by advertisement in the local newspaper or on the College website.

2. Application Form: Candidates are required to obtain the application form and complete it. Although it is not indicated how the application form can be obtained, it is likely that an online application will be available on the College website or the application form will be made available in the admission office.

3. Document Submission: Submission should include relevant documents to be attached with a duly completed application form. Required documents usually include:

Degree Wise Admission Process

B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education): The B.Ed. course is a 2-year full-time program imparting training to the aspiring teachers at the elementary level. The college has a capacity of 100 seats in this regard. Admission to the B.Ed. course will be on merit based on the performance of the individual in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination in accordance with guidelines of the state government and the affiliated university. 

D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education): The D.El.Ed. or Diploma of Elementary Education is an additional program conducted by the Gurukul College of Education. The number of seats allotted for D.El.Ed. is limited to 50. Admission to D.El.Ed. will, however, be strictly on merit in the qualifying exam or considering entrance exam score with precisely the same framework as for B.Ed. All criteria and process of selection will be as per the government and university guidelines.
