Gurukul College of Education has specifically been set up for teacher-training programmes as an affiliated rural college in full-fulfilling activities in Uttar Dinajpur district, West Bengal. Gurukul College of Education admission is based on merit, as per the guidelines of the state government, UT administration, and affiliated university. Gurukul College of Education imparts two different sets of teacher education courses- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). The aforesaid course is a full-time, two-year course aimed at preparing prospective teachers of elementary level.
The D.El.Ed. or Diploma of Elementary Education is an additional programme conducted by the Gurukul College of Education. The number of seats allotted for D.El.Ed. is limited to 50. Gurukul College of Education admission to D.El.Ed. will, however, be strictly on merit in the qualifying exam or considering entrance exam score with precisely the same framework as for B.Ed. All criteria and process of selection will be as per the government and university guidelines.
The B.Ed. course is a 2-year full-time programme imparting training to the aspiring teachers at the elementary level. The college has a capacity of 100 seats in this regard. Gurukul College of Education admission to the B.Ed. course will be on merit based on the performance of the individual in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination in accordance with guidelines of the state government and the affiliated university.
