PSIT Polytechnic, Kanpur was established in 2017 and is a rather new technical institution located on the Kanpur–Agra–Delhi National Highway-2, Bhauti, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Being a co-educational institute and an affiliated college, it got approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, AICTE, New Delhi, for diploma courses in different branches of engineering and technology.

PSIT Polytechnic has many facilities to help students in their academics and other daily activities. The college library acts as a learning and knowledge center by facilitating students to access technical literature and other resources. Departmental laboratories provide a practical learning environment where students can implement theoretical aspects in the laboratories. In all, the intake of students for all courses sums up to 240, meaning the institute strongly emphasises the fact that to effective learning, classes have to be small.
