SRFTI Kolkata Facilities

The Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute Kolkata provides students with multiple amenities for their complete growth. Students at SRFTI, Kolkata are assisted in participating in extracurricular activities and expanding their social networks through student organisations. Students can ensure their social development, concentrate on their soft skills, and increase their confidence by participating actively in cultural and technical events included in SRFTI, Kolkata facilities. Library
The library of the Institute, Kolkata was set up in 1997. The library has been primarily designed to meet the requirements of the institute’s academic programs. It has a great formidable collection of books and periodicals on cinema, sociology, art, history, and critical studies along with specialized titles dealing with the technology of cinema. At present, the library has a great collection of DVDs ranging from classics to experimental films
I.T Infrastructure
The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.
Alumni Associations
The college has good networking for the alumni association.
Auditorium
There is no dearth of opportunities for students to watch films as the Institute has a multi-purpose Main Theatre (370 seats). A Preview Theatre (72 seats) as well as an Open Air Theatre with a capacity of over 500 with 35mm, 16mm, and Video projection facilities. In addition to the above, there is a class Room Theatre (CRT) equipped with modern facilities required for lecture demonstration. We have also facilities for screening in the departments for Specialisation students
Cafeteria
The Institute has an in-house canteen to cater to the needs of students and staff at a reasonable rate. Internet & photocopying facilities are also available to the students at a nominal rate.
Boys Hostel
The College-provided hostel Boys’ Hostels are equipped with all modern amenities including a multi-gym and can accommodate 160 students on sharing basis.
Girls Hostel
The College Provided Hostel Girls’ Hostels are equipped with all modern amenities including a multi-gym and can accommodate 160 students on sharing basis.
Sports
The college has sports facilities for all students.
Gym
The college has a Gym facility for the students.
Guest Room/Waiting Room
The has a well-furnished guest house with a spacious lobby and dining hall. Guest House accommodation is available for guests of the Institute and visiting professionals and also for ex-students, parents of students, etc.
