Affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi, the institution Shiva Degree College was inaugurated in the year 2009. The college is situated at Manapur, Patti, Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and its campus area is nearly 3 acres. Shiva Degree College aims at producing quality teachers for the intellectual pursuit of pupils. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) recognises this college also, with a diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). With an enrolment of 355 students and a faculty strength of 16, this college is strong in terms of assuring a good student-teacher ratio that gives due attention to each learner. 

Shiva Degree College also has a number of facilities that add value to the campus life of students. A proper library can establish itself as an intelligent base supporting knowledge through essential academic aids. The infrastructural facilities of the college also comprise a computer centre with internet connectivity available 24 hours a day. This is an important necessity of the modern era for all-round educational requirements. The laboratories are well-supplied for practical learning along with the theoretical knowledge. Sports facilities, a gym, and an auditorium are also available to promote extracurricular activities and keep the students engaged in their life. Facilities of a health centre with first aid facilities are also available to make the students healthy. The campus houses a hygienic cafeteria, guest rooms for visitors, and comfortable classrooms favourable to learning.

The courses that the institute offers are only one main course which is the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). This full time two-year programme has an intake approved for 50 students. The D.El.Ed course is planned for aspiring teachers to prepare them in elementary education, allowing the development of a firm basis for shaping young minds. After all, the college lays much stress on the special programme, but it works on quality schooling at teacher-training level. 

Admission in the college is done according to the rules set by state government as well as UT Administration. Admission is merit-based that depends on the marks acquired in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test.
