Sun Institute of Teacher Education, Lahar, started in the year 2005 and is one of the premier teacher training college situated in Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh. This co-ed institute is to prepare the future of prospective educators, who enrol in this institute as students. Sun Institute of Teacher Education provides two courses in the field of Teacher Education. The proposed Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme with an intake capacity of one hundred students, is a two year course to train the prospective teachers for secondary and higher secondary levels. Another 2-year course for 50 students is Diploma in Education or D.Ed which prepares teacher for primary and upper primary teachers. Both programmes are designed to offer the required proportion of the theoretical background and pedagogical practice to prepare graduates for the contemporary class.

The admission procedure in Sun Institute of Teacher Education is regulated by the centralised counselling carried out on the instruction of the Madhya Pradesh Government.
