Varahi Education College, Sabarmati Admission 2025: Dates, Application Form, Courses, Fees & Eligibility

Varahi College of Education, Sabarmati, as a college approved by NCTE and constituted an affiliated college for the purpose of undertaking educational courses in teacher education. Admission systems are dynamic and target getting qualified applicants to the education programs.  Admission to Varahi Education College is carried out via the entrance examination organized for different courses. It has a fair and transparent student selection process, which considers the candidates' academic merit along with the acquisition of entrance examination scores related to various courses for which they are applying. The B.Ed admission process follows the same pattern, whereby admissions are coordinated by Centralized Admission on behalf of Gujarat University. 

This makes the standardized and equitable arrangements for the selection of candidates. The admission criteria for Varahi Education College depend on the specific program for which a student wants to apply. In terms of B.Ed., eligibility criteria defined by Gujarat University must be fulfilled along with a successful performance on the centralized entrance examination. D.El.Ed admissions have a separate process defined for them by the examination result according to the policy of the State Government and/or UT Administration.

Application Process

The application process is different for each course offered by Varahi Education College:

For B.Ed:

1. Candidates apply through the Centralized Admission process of Gujarat University.
2. Filling of the online application form on the official website of Gujarat University or as mentioned by the admissions authority is a must.
3. All required documents must be available, including academic transcripts, scores for the entrance test, and more.
4. Pay the application fees prescribed by the university.
5. Attend the counseling process in case of selection based on merit in the entrance examination and academic merit.
6. Go ahead to complete the admission at Varahi Education College, assuming there was a seat allotment.

For D.El.Ed:

1. Check the college website or get in touch with the admission office regarding announcements for the application procedure.
2. Apply for D.El.Ed by requesting the application form from the school, filling it up, and sending it in. 
3. Submission of application forms along with all necessary documents which include academic transcripts and certificates.
4. Pay the required application fee.
5. If state's authority mandates then appear for their entrance examination.
6. Merit list will be announced based on qualifying examination results and/or entrance examination results.
7. Selected candidates will have to attend counseling and complete the admission formalities.

Generally, the documents required for both courses include:

• Passport size photographs.
• 10th and 12th standard marksheets and certificates.
• Graduation marksheets and degree certificate (for B.Ed. applicants).
• Entrance exam scorecard (if applicable).
• Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC), if seeking admission under reserved categories.
• Domicile certificate (if required).
• Any other documents which the college or admission authorities mention.

Admission Process per Degree

B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education): Admission to the B.Ed. Program at Varahi Education College is as per the Centralized Admission procedure of Gujarat University. Twenty admissions have been newly sanctioned by the state government, bringing the total new intake to 50. Candidates desirous of being admitted to the B.Ed. Program need to take part in the centralized admission process usually involves entrance examination followed by counseling on a merit basis. Thus, admission remains competitive and hence it usually depends on candidate performance in the entrance examination as well as the academic background.

D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education): The D.El.Ed. program has permission to have 50 seats. The admission procedure for this program is not the same as that for B.Ed. According to guidelines put down by the institution, D.El.Ed. will be another merit entrance-based admission basing the selection on marks obtained in qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The selection process thus is made either by the state government or UT administration so as to ensure the right sort of candidates with a background and appropriateness for elementary education entered into the program.
