The ‘Film Appreciation’ online certification program is focused on analyzing the cinematic language, grammatical aspects, and the narrative elements of Films that define cinema to be a visual aesthetic. The curriculum is designed to allow the students to discuss the narrative elements and their influence on our emotions and thought processes. This free online training is provided by the Swayam education portal in association with the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL).

Professor Aysha Iqbal Viswamohan is the program faculty is from the department of humanities and social sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras teaching film studies, drama, and culture. The students are delivered with insights on cinema and culture through videos, lectures, and other online resources and evaluated by monthly assessments and a final certification exam.

The ‘Film Appreciation’ online training program enables students to receive the course certificate and credit points for the certification at the end of this elective course which is conducted for eight weeks.
