Hello Madan!
You have not specified if your query is about admission in the University of Delhi at UG or PG level.

If it is regarding admission to Undergraduate or UG courses, then the process is as follows :-

Except a few, admission to all the different UG courses are provided by the DU on the basis of your class 12th aggregate % i.e. the four subjects in which you have the best scores ('Best of Four').

First of all, you need to fill up the online application for DU likely to be available from the 1st week of April, 2020 on their official website : du.ac.in under 'UG admissions'.

Then, by the end of July, when the university will release the cutoff lists for its different recognized and affiliated colleges, you need to check for which colleges you are eligible to apply.
If your score is meeting the requirements in your desired course then as the next step, you'll have to participate in their counseling process.
In this way, you can get admission in the college that you are eligible (depending on the courses provided by the colleges).

To give you some idea about the selection process through 'Best of Four', let's say that you've secured the following marks in your CBSE Class 12th exams :-

English : 81
Mathematics : 75
Physics : 87
Biology : 90
Chemistry : 88

Then, your 'Best of Four' will be : marks obtained in the four subjects : (English + Physics + Biology + Chemistry) /4 = (81+87+90+88)/4 = 346/4 = 86.5 (excluding Mathematics as you've scored the lowest marks i.e. 75 in it, when compared to the others).

And this 86.5 % will be the key deciding factor for the colleges you can get.

If someone has 6 subjects in his/her 10+2 level, even then the four subjects in which the student has obtained the best marks will be considered.

If your query is about admission to post-graduate courses, then you'll have to apply online for DU's entrance exam if you are a NON-DU student. Then, admission will be granted to you on the basis of your entrance scores and the category you belong to.

I hope this answer helps you.

Kindly specify your query with details of the course you want to apply for, so that we can help you further.

Don't hesitate to ask in case you have any more queries.
