You can go for mechanical engineering at Thapar but i will suggest you to take the CSE branch if you want to enter into the private firm after your BTech because most of the job opportunities you get after your BTech from CSE branch are in private sector. So if you want to get government jobs then you should apply for mechanical branch otherwise you can take CSE branch.
