GNDEC Ludhiana is also approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi. In 2012, GNDEC Ludhiana became the first engineering college of Punjab to be conferred with autonomous status by UGC under sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act 1956.
