With 316 marks in NEET 2025 , your chances of getting a Category A seat in private BDS colleges in Andhra Pradesh under the AU region are fair , especially if you belong to a reserved category such as BC, SC, or ST.

In previous years, Category A BDS seats in private dental colleges like GSL Dental College, GITAM Dental College, and Sibar Dental College were allotted to candidates with NEET scores between 300 and 350 , particularly in later counselling rounds.

If you are from a BC or SC category , your chances improve further because Category A seats in private colleges are government quota seats , and the cutoff is lower for reserved candidates .

Hello Aspirant,

  • Yes, you are eligible for Category A (Government quota) seats in private dental colleges under Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS).

  • Cutoffs for BDS in Andhra Pradesh under Category A are usually much lower than MBBS, and candidates with marks ranging from 280 to 350 often get BDS seats in private colleges during later rounds.

Chances in College like:

  1. GSL Dental College, Rajahmundry

    • Last year, BDS closed around 310–320 marks for Category A (OC/BC).

    • You may get this in Round 2 or Mop-Up.

  2. Gitam Dental College, Visakhapatnam

    • Slightly more competitive; closed around 320–330 marks.

    • Keep this in your list—chances improve in Mop-Up if seats remain vacant.

  3. Sibar Institute of Dental Sciences

    • Less competitive; chances are better for Round 2/Mop-Up.

All the best for your admission.
